In the shadow of Napoleon: following on from our concerts last season, we continue to explore the string quartets of Beethoven and his contemporaries, performing the magnificent Op.59 quartets alongside slightly different and unusual repertoire by lesser known composers of the 18th and 19th centuries.

Donizetti (1797-1848): String Quartet No.7 in F minor (1819)

Arriaga (1806-1826): String Quartet No.3 in Eb major

Beethoven (1770-1827): String Quartet in E minor Op.59 No.2
